The Bear
Danny the bear walked slow through pine, A quiet king of shade and time. His fur was dark as midnight skies, With gentle strength behind his eyes. He roamed the woods where rivers bend, With no true foe and few a friend. The birds would hush as he passed by, Yet none could say exactly why. For Danny bore a thoughtful air, Not just beast, but more than a bear. He’d watch the stars with silent grace, As moonlight traced his rugged face. In autumns gold, he’d wander far, Guided softly by each star. Through Winter deep, in sleep he’d dream, Of honeyed light and silver streams. And when he woke to springs first call, He’d rise again, both strong and tall. Danny, the bear, both fierce and wise, Held forest secrets in his eyes.
End

I don’t know why but I really like that he was named ‘Danny.’ It fit.
